We are going through a season of extreme hardship and uncertainty globally. Most of us would like to help one way or the other to alleviate the emotional pain but unsure how to. Making unique and personalized cards that are purposeful for different occasions to lift the spirits of people in different communities could be a way. Such cards could be given to the seniors in the nursing homes, hospitalized children, and so on. This easy DIY craft will spread some love and put a smile on the faces of those enduring adverse life experiences or that are feeling alone in the midst of these difficult times. I will be making two easy to do cards. Please read on.
Card #1
Get well soon Tissue Card.
Materials you will need: Colored paper, glue, personalized cultural or tribal print (optional) or pattern paper, and bold marker.
Step 1): Fold a piece of colored paper into equal halves.
Step 2): Glue another piece of colored paper with your color of choice onto the front center of the colored paper previously folded in halves. Make sure the color paper you are pasting is half and not folded.
Step 3): OPTIONAL- collect a personalized cultural or tribal print and glue it around a piece of square paper. If you do not have tribal print you can use a piece of pattern paper.
Step 4): OPTIONAL- Fold in the two corners of paper covered in tribal print that meet towards the center of the paper. You can also fold the top and side edges as well to add a 3D effect. The end result will serve as the tissue box. Follow this step if you are using pattern paper.
Step 5): Take a normal kleenex and fold it to your preference to make the tissue look as if it is coming out of the tissue box.
Step 6): Take the tissue box and add a little bit of glue onto the tissue, which will then be glued onto the base of the tissue box.
Step 7): Glue folded edges of the tissue box and paste it onto the card you created in the beginning.
Step 8): Anywhere on the card include a message.
